In order to support clients outside of your firewall/router, you will need to open a port on your router. This will forward incoming calls to the internal IP address of your support machine. This only needs to be done with the support computer, the remote client should never need ports opened.

This tool will test your port to make sure your firewall/router is allowing the support computer to accept calls from the remote client. Make sure HelpDesk VNC is waiting for a connection (Click here for a trial version) and port-forwarding for your firewall, NAT router or Gateway device is configured.

This port check only checks to see if a port is open. It can not tell if the HelpDesk VNC or another program is responding.
